Character

These chickens hold a special place in our hearts. We have always wanted to rescue those huge beautiful birds that you see on YouTube and this year we finally got our chance. We were able to add three hens and a rooster to the group closely followed by another Brahma rooster that was disturbing the peace! He sure has a lot to say strutting around the farm but we love hearing him serenade us throughout the day. They all sleep together at night and often free range closely as well. Sometimes the second rooster will wander and make some new friends but he always finds his way back to the group for bedtime. All our chickens that live in the coop get counted and locked up at night for their own protection. We do have a handful of birds that prefer the barn but all the birds find their happy place and settle in for the night safely.
